Google News Lab teaching fellow, Michael Grant, will highlight the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning and explain, in English, how to utilize these technologies to analyze large datasets, find patterns in pictures, audio and text, as well as enhance their overall workflow.
Michael Grant is a veteran editorial experience designer. In 2019 he joined the Google News Lab where he provides newsrooms with expert training on a range of tools for reporting and storytelling. Prior, he was user experience design editor at Reveal, from The Center for Investigative Reporting. Grant is also an alum of the 2018 John S. Knight Journalism Fellowships at Stanford University. As a fellow he explored technology preparedness among ethnic media publishers and methods for strengthening technology adoption.
