Ben Reininga

Ben Reininga is currently the Nieman Berkman-Klein Fellow of Journalism Innovation at Harvard University. His work focuses on the rise of creator journalists on social platforms, identifying responsible ways to harness growing audience interest while building trust.
He spent the past five years as head of editorial at Snapchat, where he led a team focused on creating high-quality content for tens of millions of users. He built partnerships with major news outlets, set policy to ensure accuracy and credibility, and launched products to create better ways for users to get news and information. Prior, he led an award-winning 50-person video team at Gizmodo Media Group and held a number of editing and leadership roles in digital media. He lives with his husband in Brooklyn.
