Los hispanohablantes inscritos en el 26º Simposio Internacional de Periodismo Online (ISOJ) ya pueden inscribirse en un taller sobre el uso de las herramientas de inteligencia artificial de Google que asisten en las tareas cotidianas de las redacciones.

El taller “Comienza a utilizar herramientas de inteligencia artificial para noticias”, ofrecido por Google News Initiative, patrocinador del ISOJ 2025, tendrá lugar el jueves 27 de marzo, de 12:15 a 13:25 horas, en la tercera planta del Texas Union de la Universidad de Texas en Austin. Es exclusivo para los inscritos presenciales y virtuales del ISOJ 2025 y está incluido en cada entrada. No obstante, es necesario inscribirse en este taller gratuito.

Esta sesión es en español, sin interpretación, pero se celebrará un taller complementario en inglés a la misma hora.

Durante el taller, Mariana Alvarado, formadora de Google News Initiative, repasará las herramientas de IA utilizadas en las redacciones, entre ellas la herramienta de investigación y toma de notas NotebookLM, la herramienta de investigación Pinpoint, el motor de búsqueda de verificación Fact Check Explorer, el chatbot de IA generativa Gemini y el asistente de información News Consumer Insights (NCI).

“Las herramientas de IA que vamos a ver nos ayudan a optimizar los tiempos y flujos de trabajo en las redacciones,” dijo Alvarado.

Pinpoint, por ejemplo, permite a los periodistas analizar cientos de documentos en busca de patrones e identificar nombres, fechas y lugares rápidamente, explicó ella. Con Gemini, los usuarios pueden resumir cadenas de correo electrónico o mejorar la forma en que estructuran un mensaje o localizan información. Y NotebookLM permite a los periodistas elaborar resúmenes de sus artículos, encontrar nuevos ángulos y fuentes de información, elaborar guías, etc., dijo Alvarado.

“Estas herramientas de IA nos ayudan ahorran tiempo en tareas que requieren mucho y ese tiempo, puede entonces ser dedicado a avanzar en otras tareas como redactar el draft final de tu investigación periodística,” dijo Alvarado. “Es vital aplicar el rigor y la verificación, y estas herramientas nos pueden ayudar en esa tarea al permitirnos de manera rápida revisar nombres, imágenes, fechas, lugares, antes de publicar, por ejemplo.”

New Spanish-language Google News Initiative workshop on AI tools for the newsroom added to ISOJ program

Spanish speakers registered for the 26th International Symposium on Online Journalism (ISOJ) can now register for a workshop on using artificial intelligence tools from Google to help with everyday newsroom tasks.

“Get Started with AI Tools for News,” offered by ISOJ 2025 sponsor Google News Initiative, takes place on Thursday, March 27, from 12:15 – 1:25 p.m. on the third floor of the Texas Union at the University of Texas at Austin. It is exclusively for in-person and virtual registrants of ISOJ 2025 and is included in every ticket. However, registration for this free workshop is required.

This session is in Spanish, without interpretation, but a companion English-language workshop will be held at the same time.
