Ashley Alvarado

Ashley Alvarado is the president and CEO of Texas Public Radio (TPR). A champion of community-centered media, she has dedicated her two-decade journalism career to advancing the practice of engaged journalism. Before leading TPR, Ashley held leadership and editorial roles at LAist (Southern California Public Radio). She’s also worked at the Center for Investigative Reporting and Tu Ciudad Los Angeles, among other newsrooms. Committed to supporting the broader journalism ecosystem, she serves on the boards of the Online News Association, Greater Public and the First Amendment Coalition.
