Elite Truong is the director for strategic initiatives at The Washington Post, where she oversees Lede Lab, a team focused on producing experimental, technology-driven storytelling projects working with The Post’s journalism, technology and advertising teams. She’s worked on projects such as “How to Dress for Space,” the Apollo 11 50th anniversary space suit timeline in augmented reality, the animated virtual reality film “12 Seconds of Gunfire” that the Post debuted at Tribeca Film Festival, and Claire, The Post’s AI reporter that updated and distributed thousands of live election audio results through Post podcasts during the 2020 presidential election. She’s most interested in how new technologies and partnerships can push storytelling forward and reach new audiences.

Prior to The Post, Elite led product strategy and development for off-platform storytelling at Vox Media, authored a column on media innovation for Poynter and was a longtime food and travel reporter. She teaches entrepreneurship for journalists at the University of Maryland, serves as a career coach for Digital Women Leaders and previously served as a board member for Online News Association.
