Jarno M. Koponen is a product and innovation leader, currently working as the Head of AI and Personalization at Yle News Lab in Yle, which is a non-profit public media company in Finland. His vision is to combine journalism, AI and design to build a sustainable and future-proof journalistic organization.
Jarno has built and led multidisciplinary teams, and created innovative high-impact products and technologies, including a pioneering AI-powered smart news assistant Voitto, an award-winning edugame Troll Factory and an internationally recognized predictive discovery engine Random/Futureful.
His work has been covered by The New York Times, Fast Company, Vice Motherboard, NPR, Ars Technica, Oxford Reuters Institute, The London School of Economics and Political Science, and MIT Technology Review among others.
