Journalist and Strategist at NewsQ
Kate Harloe is a Strategist and Researcher at the News Quality Initiative, where she leads the project’s Review Panels of journalists & scholars who study news quality online. She is also a freelance journalist, whose work has appeared in Mother Jones Magazine, San Francisco Magazine, The Rumpus, NCPR, and many other places. She has received a variety of awards for her work, including a Society of Professional Journalists award, a national Foreign Language & Area Studies award, and a Fellowship for the Study of Professional Ethics at Auschwitz, among other honors. She has also worked for WIRED Magazine, NewsGuard, Crosscut Public Media, and is a graduate of UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism.
