Senior Program Manager, LION Publishers
Lisa Heyamoto is senior program manager at LION Publishers, where she helps independent news businesses become more sustainable through the GNI Startups Lab. She was previously a reporter at The Seattle Times and The Sacramento Bee, and has been a longtime journalism educator at the University of Oregon. She co-founded The 32 Percent Project, which explores what drives and disrupts trust in the news media. Her work centers on increasing news access for underserved communities and building public trust in journalism. With two decades of experience in newsrooms, classrooms and conference rooms, she is committed to channeling the best of journalism’s past toward a robust, resilient future. She is based in Eugene, Oregon.
