Marco Túlio Pires is the Google News Lab Lead, Brazil. He leads efforts around Product Thinking, misinformation, DEI and emerging technologies. Before joining Google, Marco worked as a production coordinator at Globo TV and as a science news reporter for VEJA. He co-founded School of Data in Brazil and directed the global School of Data network in 13 countries. He’s a member of the Data Journalism Sigma Awards pre-jury and has helped launch a series of initiatives to tackle some of journalism’s biggest challenges, such as Comprova and AJOR, both in Brazil, and the News Product Alliance.
