Reg Chua is the Global Managing Editor, Operations, at Reuters, responsible for editorial operations, including budgets, safety and security, logistics, as well as liaising with corporate technology and research and development teams to develop newsroom tools.  He also helped develop the news organization’s award-winning graphics and data journalism teams.  Prior to joining Reuters in New York in 2011, he was the Editor-in-Chief of the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong, and spent 16 years at The Wall Street Journal in Manila, Hanoi, Hong Kong and New York, including eight as the editor of the paper’s Asia edition.  He started his career in radio and television, at the then-Singapore Broadcasting Corporation and had stints with Reuters and the Straits Times of Singapore before joining the Journal.  A native of Singapore, he graduated from the University of Chicago and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
