@dhiott Debbie Hiott is the general manager of Austin’s NPR station KUT and music station KUTX, and executive director of media operations at UT’s Moody College of Communication. Before going into public media, she spent 28 years at the Austin American-Statesman, starting as a reporting intern and leaving after seven years as the paper’s top editor. She currently serves on the boards of the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas and Headliners Foundation.
Hiott was chair of the panel “Ok, Google, Alexa and Siri: Play the news. Can you really help journalism in the podcast boom?” at ISOJ 2019.
