Michael Morisy is the co-founder and chief executive of the MuckRock Foundation, a journalism and transparency non-profit used by reporters, researchers, and ordinary citizens around the globe to better understand their government, their communities, and their world. In addition to the FOIA site MuckRock, the Foundation also runs DocumentCloud, which helps host and analyze primary source documents; FOIA Machine, a free public records request tracking tool; oTranscribe, which helps transcribe audio and video; and Quackbot, a Slack chatbot designed to assist journalists. Previously he was a John S. Knight journalism fellow at Stanford University and a digital editor at the Boston Globe.

Morisy was part of the panel “The impact of artificial intelligence and machine learning on journalism” at ISOJ 2019.
