Juan E. Pardinas is the General Editorial Director of the newspaper Reforma in Mexico, a position he’s held since January 15, 2019. He previously held the position of general director of the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (Competitividad A.C).

Prior to this position, he served as a researcher at the Development Research Center (CIDAC), and he was also a professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) and the London School of Economics (LSE).

For two years, he served as correspondent for CNN in Spanish in both India and Japan.

He has collaborated in public opinion shows on radio and television. Among his publications, he highlights: “You and your vote build democracy” and “Taxes a necessary evil.”

He has published notes in magazines such as Harvard Review of Latin America, Nexus,
Free Letters, This Country, and until January 2019, he also had a weekly collaboration
in the newspapers of Grupo Reforma.

He has a D.P.A in Government from the London School of Economics. He also has a Master’s degree in Economics (M.Ec) from the University of Sophia in Tokyo, Japan and political science from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
