Clara Jiménez Cruz is the co-founder and CEO of Maldita.es Foundation, a leading organization in the fight against disinformation and the promotion of trust and integrity in information on a global scale through journalism, technology, education, research, and advocacy. Clara is also the co-founder of Factchequeado, a U.S.-based initiative aimed at combating disinformation within Hispanic communities.

With a decade-long career as a television journalist, Clara, who frequently collaborates with national media outlets in Spain, was appointed as a member of the High-Level Group on Disinformation by the European Commission. She currently serves as President of the European Fact-checking Standards Network (EFCSN) and is also a member of the Advisory Board of the International Fact-Checking Network. Among other recognitions, she was selected as an Ashoka Fellow in 2019 for social entrepreneurship and named Spanish Young Journalist of the Year in 2020.
