Marisa Kwiatkowski

Marisa Kwiatkowski is director of journalism at Knight Foundation. She oversees a portfolio of grants and endowments focused on the First Amendment, local and investigative journalism, legal support, journalist safety, training and more. Marisa previously spent 20 years as a journalist, handling investigations at USA TODAY and local outlets in Michigan, South Carolina and Indiana. Her work has spurred multiagency investigations, criminal charges, resignations and changes to policy and state and federal law.
