Good morning and welcome to the 2009 International Symposium on Online Journalism, coming to you from a balmy and wet University of Texas in Austin.

We had rain on the first day of the symposium last year, too, so it appears that Mother Nature has it out for this evolving industry of ours. It’s nice and warm in the ACES building, though, and we’re ready to discuss everything from journalism’s past to its present to its future.

We’ve got a plethora of speakers and topics lined up, as well as a multitude of people to cover them, so stick with us right here on the official symposium blog. Feel free to make comments and if you’re on Twitter, use the code #isoj to connect with your fellow attendees.

This blog is only a small example of what we can do with the web in journalism, but let’s use it to create a dialogue keep our industry in the best possible shape.

Thanks for coming, and stick around!
